Kate joined ECEHH in October 2022 as a part-time PhD Researcher funded by GroundsWell,  a UKPRP-funded project exploring ways to better understand and evidence the role of Urban Green and Blue Space within wider social, economic, environmental, cultural and health systems.

Her research is aiming to locate disability within urban green space and explore aspects of green gentrification.

Before joining the University of Exeter, Kate has worked for twenty years in healthcare as an Audiologist. As well as a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Science (Audiology) studied part time at University College London, she has an MSc in Rehabilitative Audiology from University of Bristol.

Over the last ten years Kate has developed a keen interest in the relevance of a reciprocal relationship with nature on human health and wellbeing. When not working at ECEHH she is a Nature Based Practitioner with a focus on Rewilding and landscape scale nature recovery and founded Devon Wildland reaching out to landowners to work collaboratively in the face of the biodiversity crisis.
