Food Systems & Planetary Health

Currently, most food systems are neither ecologically sustainable, nor do they provide adequate healthy human nutrition. Research at the ECEHH aims to help transform local and global food systems towards being sustainable within planetary, ecosystem, boundaries, resilient to climate change and being able to equitably deliver improved human nutrition.

The following research activities represent a snapshot of our work in this area.

Research project

Global Community Food for Human Nutrition and Planetary Health in Small Islands (Global CFaH)

Global CFaH aims to understand the potential for improving household diet, nutrition, and food security, and reducing the burden of nutrition related diseases by promoting increased community-based food production based on agroecological principles, in small island countries.
