Blue health makes waves on BBC Morning Live
BBC One’s morning magazine waded into the concept of ‘blue health’ this week, as reporter Aimee Fuller explored how spending time in aquatic environments might impact health and wellbeing.
The package aired on Monday 4th November and one of the centre’s leading environmental psychologists, Dr Lewis Elliott, was on hand to explore the science underpinning these effects.
Lewis was part of the EU-funded BlueHealth project, an international and multi-partner investigation that examined the links between urban blue spaces, climate, and health.
Launched in 2016, this pioneering initiative put the concept of ‘blue health’ on the map, introducing a term that has since become popular shorthand for the therapeutic potential of environments that feature oceans, rivers, and lakes.
