Jono Warren is an MRes student exploring how antibiotic resistant bacteria can spread in coastal bathing waters.
He graduated from the University of Plymouth with a BSc (hons) in biomedical sciences. He then started working at the Environment Agency, where he was involved with routine bathing water analysis and microbial source tracking by qPCR.
Jono developed and integrated next generation sequencing methods, including diatom analysis, and further microbial source tracking techniques.
He now continues to work part-time with the Environment Agency whilst he is completing his masters research.
