Philip graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2016 with a BSc in Geography. He then joined the University of Exeter in September of the same year to begin working on a PhD based in Cornwall with the Medical School.
Philip’s research interests have grown from a concern regarding the natural environment, including people’s interactions with it, and similarly, how the surrounding environment influences people’s health, which was the basis of his undergraduate dissertation; ‘The relationship between green space and very bad health in Liverpool’.
Philip’s PhD is entitled ‘Examining the influence of socio-economic status, area level deprivation and exposure to air pollution on respiratory health in England’ and he will be working with Dr Karyn Morrissey and Dr Ben Wheeler from the University of Exeter, as well as Dr Stefan Reis from the University of Edinburgh.
